Happy Wednesday Thunderbirds!
It’s another full Wednesday Folder. There is a lot of information to impart in these first few weeks.
This morning there was an urgent alert sent out that the City of Austin has cut the funding for our afterschool Prime Time program to $0. This is a very big deal for our school. Prime Time is an excellent program that provides an enriching, safe environment for our kiddos. There was a City Council meeting this morning at 9:30 a.m. and a number of parents attended to show support for Prime Time and ask that it be funded in the 2015-2016 budget.
If you missed the meeting – never fear – you can still make your voice heard by going to http://www.austintexas.gov/mail/all-council-members and sending an email to all the council members and letting them know how you feel about the Prime Time Program.

Mark your calendars: Sept. 11, 2014 is Back to School Night!
This annual event welcomes parents to THES for an evening of important information. Parents will visit the Special Areas (Art Room, Music Room, Library, Computer Lab, Gym), meet as a community in the gym to discuss goals for the year with our PTA board, and then meet with their child’s teachers in the classroom. We hope all parents can make it!
Schedule
5-6pm: Visit Special Areas (Art Room, Music Room, Library, Computer Lab, Gym)
6-6:30pm: Meet in Gym for Parent/Teacher Group Meeting
6:30-7:15: Meet Your Child’s Teacher (Classroom #1)
7:20-8pm: Meet Your Child’s Teacher (Classroom #2)
