Torchy’s will be donating a portion of their profits to Travis Heights Elementary PTA.  You can eat there, order and pick up, or even do Curbside.  Just be sure to let the person that delivers your order that you are with Travis Heights Elementary and your receipt will be counted towards our grand total.  Be sure to share this with friends and family in the area too.  The more, the MONEY-er!

TIME TO SAY GOOD-BYE
December 18th
Have you or your child attended THES in the past 18 years? Then you probably know Ms. Eli, our amazing head custodian.

Ms. Eli is retiring on December 18 after close to two decades at THES. She has seen more kids pass through those doors than anyone else. Ms. Eli has worked tirelessly, and always with a smile, to keep our campus clean, safe, and beautiful.  Her kindness and quiet dignity is shared with everyone at the school.   She has always been willing to help our teachers in whatever way she could, and has trusted us by bringing two of her grandchildren here to THES. She’s been such an important part of the THES family for 18 years and will be sorely missed.

The THES community wants to thank Ms. Eli and send her off  best wishes as she moves on the the next adventure!

SHOW YOUR THUNDERBIRD PRIDE
2020-2021 T-Shirts are here!
Your Travis Heights Elementary PTA is very proud to announce that we are going to be providing a FREE t-shirt for every student at the school this year.  We will be distributing shirts on two days, Saturday 12/12 and Saturday 12/19 from 11am to 2pm in front of the school.  We are still working on the details of the process, but everyone will remain in their vehicle for this process.  Distribution will take place directly in front of the school at 2010 Alameda Dr. 78704.

In addition to the FREE shirt for every student (and staff member), we have a limited number of adult sized shirts (Unisex and Ladies cut) for sale to parents.  We also still have some stock of the very popular Thunderbird shirt (and hat and water bottle) from last fall.  These items will need to be purchased IN ADVANCE from the
THES Square Store  https://travis-heights-elementary.square.site/

Quantities for these items are limited and will be on a first come, first serve basis.  Also, please understand that there will be no try on or returns available.  If in doubt, go for a larger size. While shopping, please consider a donation to your THES PTA to help cover the cost of the shirts we are providing to all our Thunderbirds!

MASKS
As a reminder, if you are coming to campus, please be sure to bring your masks.  We have masks here but invite parents to send students with a mask and also a back up mask. Thank you!

TRANSITIONING BETWEEN REMOTE & ON-CAMPUS LEARNING
Austin ISD is proud to offer a choice between remote learning and face-to-face instruction for the 2020-21 school year. The timeline for switching from one instructional model to another is as follows: Transitioning from on-campus learning to remote off-campus learning will occur when a student/parent or guardian chooses to do so.

Transitioning from remote off-campus learning to on-campus learning will occur as soon as possible, but not to exceed five school days. The next request will occur at the beginning of the next grading period. For more info, please visit https://www.austinisd.org/openforlearning

AFTER SCHOOL LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES
Austin ISD knows the value of high-quality after-school learning opportunities. After-School programs provide students with safe, enriching and structured learning environments. To support Austin families and staff, a variety of after-school programs are available. Please note this list is not comprehensive and some programs may only accept students from certain schools. For more information on the various after-school offerings and enrollment requirements, please visit the following websites or reach out to your campus.
