Young Writers’ Workshop Success.
We had another successful YWW here at THES. Writers from our community shared their love of writing with our students. Many thanks to Erin Walter and Jo Ann Dalrymple for organizing the event and Dani Diepenbrock for hosting a welcome breakfast and thank-you lunch, and ALL of the amazing writers!
We are still trying to find someone to work with Dani as a Workshop Hospitality coordinator before the STEAM workshop in April. If anyone is interested in this fun role, please email email@example.com.

Parent Survey Reminder
As we continue to strive for excellence in preparing students for academic success, we want parents to offer feedback by completing the AISD Parent Survey. Your opinions are important and help us to serve our students better! Over the next few weeks, we ask that you please complete the survey. The survey will take just a few minutes and you can fill it out online! You can also complete the paper survey at school; please contact our PSS Ms. Perez for a paper copy. Thank you for your feedback!

Enrollment for the 2019-2020 school year is now open! We are asking all parents to register their students online at my.austinisd.org. It is crucial that we have 100% registration completed by the end of March as it will affect our staffing and funding. If you have trouble with the online registration process, please call the AISD Parent Technology Helpline at 512-414-9187 between 7am-5 pm, M-F. If you need access to a computer, we have laptops available for parents to use in the office. Please ask Ms. Gio or the PSS, Ms. Perez for help!
If you would like to opt out of paper fliers, please be sure to check the box on the front of our child’s Wednesday folder. Please help us reduce waste and save money!

Ice Cream Social/Meet Your Teacher
Time: 3:30 pm-5:30 pm
Annual Back-to-School Ice Cream Social: Find classroom assignments and meet your teacher at this annual event. Come by any time after 3:30 and stroll through your classroom. The cafeteria will have information about the school available and ice cream/non-allergen icy pops available to cool off from the heat. Please plan on stopping by the cafeteria with your child.
The social is also a great time to bring school supplies to your classroom too! School supplies can be placed in a bag with your child’s name on it. Please do not place your child’s name on individual items/school supplies within the bag. If you cannot make the social, school supplies can be brought in the first week of school. Questions about supplies can also be posed to teachers at the social or during the first week of school as well, and purchased thereafter.
