THUNDERBIRD THANKSGIVING
Thursday, November 21
We invite you to join your student for a Thanksgiving turkey lunch at school! Lunchtimes will be slightly different on November 21 so please check with your child’s teacher for their revised time. As this is the busiest lunch time of the year, please arrive early to find parking and check in at the office for a visitor’s badge (you MUST bring your ID if you’ve never checked in before).
PTA MEETING + 2ND AND 3RD GRADE PERFORMANCES
Thursday, November 21
Please join us for a very important PTA meeting – we will share our dreams and ideas about renovating Widman Woods, followed by wonderful performances by our 2nd and 3rd graders. Performing students should report to the cafeteria at 5:45pm and parents can head to the gym for the 6pm meeting. If you have questions about your child’s performance, please contact Ms. King through Class Dojo or at brittany.king@austinisd.org.

COAT DRIVE
November 22
Greetings Thunderbirds! On November 22, we will be distributing a limited amount of coats to those students in need. Please contact Ms. Dianna Perez via DoJo if your child is in need of a jacket. We have a handful of adult coats as well. Portable 1B from 8am-12 pm coat distribution will occur. Thank you.

PICTURE RETAKES
December 3rd
Please let the office or your child’s teacher know if you would like a retake of individual student pictures by 11/22/19. Strawbridge will send out a new picture packet.
TAMALADA (December 4) & CULTURAL FESTIVAL (December 7)
Plans are underway for Tamalada and Cultural Festival! These fun annual traditions celebrate the diversity in our school with tamale making, performances, cultural tables, and a Mercado with items for sale. We really need volunteers to help with planning this year’s events. Would you enjoy doing any of these roles?
Cultural Tables: Host a table about YOUR family’s culture! We would love to have ALL the cultures in our school represented.
Mercado vendors: Do you make art or crafts? You can rent a table and sell your wares!
Cultural Festival Co-Chair: work together with co-chair to organize event.
Cultural Tables Captain: help with recruiting families to host a table and organize table locations.
Performers Captain: assist with recruiting performers and setting the time slots for entertainment.
El Mercado Captain: assist with recruiting vendors and collecting booth rental funds.
