Happy Wednesday Thunderbirds!

Thanks to all who participated in the Spring Book Fair—it was a great success! STAAR testing wraps up tomorrow—thank you for helping keep our campus quiet so our 4th & 5th graders can focus. Lastly, please note there is note school next Friday, April 19th.

Lower-Grade Assembly (PK-1st Grade)

Friday, April 10th

Please drop your child off in the gym by 7:35. Parents are always welcome and encouraged to join us for assembly – it’s a lot of fun! You’ll hear the Thunderband rally the children with THES spirit and grade level competitions for the Spirit Award. Assemblies also include birthday acknowledgment and student awards for ROCKin’ behavior (Responsible, Organized, Considerate/Kind, Knowledgable) as well as various performances/presentations. Fridays are our day to show school spirit by wearing a school shirt or Thunderbird colors (red & white).

Help clean up our school’s creek!

Saturday, April 13th, 9–11am

Join neighbors for a Keep Austin Beautiful creek cleanup. Meet in the Big Stacy Pool parking lot at 9am. We will pick up trash along Blunn Creek by the playground and remove invasive plants! Please wear enclosed toe shoes, long pants (poison ivy will be lurking), a sun hat, and be sure to bring water. Children must be with parents as this is not a school event. PTA Meeting + School Performance — next week.

April 18th, THES GYM

This is our most important meeting of the year. All are welcome! We will be voting on next year’s budget and electing officers. Childcare provided! After the meeting, we will enjoy a performance by our Kindergarteners and 1st Graders. Please drop your children off by 5:45 if they are in the performance.

STEAM Volunteers Needed- April 23rd.

The STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) Workshop is an enrichment event where awesome community volunteers to share their love of the sciences and arts with our THES students. This year’s workshop is April 23rd, and parent volunteers are needed to help the morning run smoothly. Sign up here to volunteer.

Be a Hero!

Our school has some amazing enrichment activities and events. But, they only happen through the work of dedicated parent volunteers. Please consider sharing your time to help keep these events alive for future generations of Thunderbirds!

    Ice Cream Social/Meet Your Teacher

    Time: 3:30 pm-5:30 pm


    Annual Back-to-School Ice Cream Social: Find classroom assignments and meet your teacher at this annual event. Come by any time after 3:30 and stroll through your classroom. The cafeteria will have information about the school available and ice cream/non-allergen icy pops available to cool off from the heat. Please plan on stopping by the cafeteria with your child.

    The social is also a great time to bring school supplies to your classroom too! School supplies can be placed in a bag with your child’s name on it. Please do not place your child’s name on individual items/school supplies within the bag. If you cannot make the social, school supplies can be brought in the first week of school. Questions about supplies can also be posed to teachers at the social or during the first week of school as well, and purchased thereafter.
