Bring your gloves, shovels, wheelbarrows, and water bottle. There will be free tacos and coffee—everyone is welcome!
PTA MEETING & 4th/5th Grade Performance
Thursday, February 21, 6pm
We will have a quick recap of last month’s meeting and discuss upcoming PTA business for March and April. The meeting will be followed by a musical performance from the 4th and 5th-grade students! 5th GRADE PARENTS—Join the 5th Grade teachers in the gym at 5:30 before the PTA meeting for a Camp Champions information session. We will be discussing what the students will need to bring, scholarships, and answering questions and concerns. The computer lab will be open at 5pm before the PTA meeting so you can register your child for the 2019/20 school year!

Join us for coffee and a light breakfast! We will be talking about Restorative Circles—what they are, why we use them, and how parents can use them at home. There will computers available to register your child for the 2019/20 school year afterward.

Thank you for showing your LOVE to THES! The week might be over but we have not quite met our goal. We are at about $20,000 and our goal is $35,000. The PTA helps fund lots of things that the district doesn’t cover—everything from books for the library to software to school supplies. We still need YOUR help! Young Writers’ Workshop Volunteers Needed

THES Rummage Sale
Saturday, March 2, 8am–12pm
Now is the time to clean out your closets and donate your gently used clothing, toys, housewares, books, and electronics! To make the Rummage Sale a success we need a lot of great stuff to sell. Please bring your donations at drop off and pick up on Thursday, February 28 and Friday, March 1. Volunteers will be on hand to unload and collect your items.
THEN, come shop the Rummage Sale on Saturday in the gym! There will be fun and affordable shopping for the whole family. Check your Wednesday folder for Rummage Sale coupons. This event will benefit the THES PTA and Parent Support Specialist. Contact Maria Bergh 512.585.2708 or Anna Roth 832.498.2398 to volunteer or schedule a donation drop off if you cannot do it at pick up or drop off.

As we continue to strive for excellence in preparing students for academic success, we want parents to offer feedback by completing the AISD Parent Survey. URGENT Registration Reminder
Enrollment for the 2019-2020 school year is open! We are asking all parents to register their students online at https://my.austinisd.org. It is crucial that we have 100% registration complete by the end of March as it will affect our staffing and funding. If you have trouble with the online registration process, please call the AISD Parent Technology Helpline at 512.414.9187 between 7am–5pm, M-F. We have laptops available in the office for parents to use—please ask Ms. Gio or the PSS, Ms. Perez!
If you would like to opt out of paper fliers, please be sure to check the box on the front of our child’s Wednesday folder. Please help us reduce waste and save money!

Ice Cream Social/Meet Your Teacher
Time: 3:30 pm-5:30 pm
Annual Back-to-School Ice Cream Social: Find classroom assignments and meet your teacher at this annual event. Come by any time after 3:30 and stroll through your classroom. The cafeteria will have information about the school available and ice cream/non-allergen icy pops available to cool off from the heat. Please plan on stopping by the cafeteria with your child.
The social is also a great time to bring school supplies to your classroom too! School supplies can be placed in a bag with your child’s name on it. Please do not place your child’s name on individual items/school supplies within the bag. If you cannot make the social, school supplies can be brought in the first week of school. Questions about supplies can also be posed to teachers at the social or during the first week of school as well, and purchased thereafter.
