It’s a busy week at THES! Don’t forget about the PTA meeting tomorrow night at 6pm, followed by a performance by our 2nd and 3rd graders. We will see you at Thanksgiving Lunch on Thursday (don’t forget to stop by the office for your visitor’s badge). Tickets are sold out for guests to eat the school lunch, but you are still welcome to join your child!
Family Fun & Fitness Day for 3rd–5th graders is this Friday.
We REALLY NEED volunteers for the snack station — and it’s a snap to sign up online.
Please send requested food items with your child to help make this awesome event a success:
- 3rd: pickles
- 4th: bananas
- 5th: oranges.

Operation Thunderjoy

We need families and community members to “adopt” a family in need and provide gifts of toys, clothing, and food. If you are interested in sponsoring a family, please contact Lauren Davis (lauren.davis@gmail.com).
For the third year in a row, Operation Thunderjoy is on a mission to provide a joyful holiday season to our neediest Thunderbird families. Inspired by organizations like Blue Santa and the Angel Tree, Project Thunderjoy is the brainchild of one of our students who wanted to make sure her classmates had a holiday season as happy as her own. Thanks to the generosity of our village, we’ve been able to help at least 30 families annually. This year, we plan to help 50 families and we need YOU to help make it happen!

Tamalada
Wednesday, December 5, 3–6pm
Get to know other parents and staff while learning how to make tamales in the THES cafeteria! There will be lots of fun activities for kids, and you will be able to come back and purchase tamales on Saturday during Cultural Festival ($12 a dozen). Middle School Fair 2018
Saturday, December 1, 9am–noon at Fulmore Middle School
Families of current and future middle school students are invited to Austin ISD’s 2018 Middle School Fair. Students and their families can learn about the diverse and innovative programming offered in Austin ISD, enjoy student performances, and hear from current students, families, and faculty from our 19 middle schools about the amazing programs and classes open to our middle school students.
Reagan and Crockett Early College High Schools will be running a shuttle to and from Fulmore Middle School starting at 8 a.m., with the final pickup to return to the high schools at noon.
