Please be diligent in checking this week’s Wednesday folder there because there are very important beginning-of-the-year notices and forms that you must read, fill out, sign, and return. Thank you for returning this required information back to your teacher ASAP.

Lastly, download a copy of the THES Climate and Culture Plan, which outlines expectations for student behavior, dress code, and positive support systems here. This must be signed by a parent and returned to the school.

New this year, pay online!
Exciting news, Thunderbirds! This year, we’re introducing School Cash Online, which makes it easy for parents to pay online for field trips, recorders, and other school items. More details in the fliers pdf.
There are just a few more days to purchase a ticket for the Back to School Parents’ Night Off Raffle! Proceeds from this raffle will help teachers to buy supplies for their classrooms and kids! The winner of the raffle will get a free one–night staycation at South Congress Hotel and a $100 gift card to the hotel’s restaurant Central Standard.
$20 a ticket or $50 for 3 tickets (plus an extra ticket for the teacher of your choice to have a chance at winning)! Don’t sleep on this great opportunity to win a staycation + help fund your student’s classroom! The winner will be announced on Monday, August 27th. Purchase your ticket online now!
Parent + Student Lunches
Parents may eat lunch with their child on Wednesdays and Fridays, starting Wednesday, September 12th. We want students to establish routines and get used to our procedures before we have parents come and join them for lunch times. Please note that we do not make exceptions for birthdays or any other reason.
Parents, we need your help stuffing Wednesday Folders! If you could spare some time right after drop off this Wednesday (or any Wednesday) that would be amazing—please stop by the cafeteria. The more the merrier and the faster we can get it done! Arrive when you can and stay for as long as you are able.
**FOR THOSE WHO ARE NEW: Every Wednesday folders are sent home with students as a way for us to communicate important information about THES and your student’s classroom. Welcome aboard!
Pick Up + Drop Off / Parking + Traffic
Parking is not allowed in front of the school between 7-8am and 2-3:15pm. Please do not park in the parking lots, as these are reserved for faculty and staff. Additionally, do not drive down Rosedale Terrace as it creates dangerous traffic situations. We also encourage parents to not block or park in front of neighbor’s driveways to avoid backing up traffic. Parents dropping off students should pull up to the curb and let children out. Parents picking up children after school by car are required to get in the car line on the north end of the campus by Wildman Woods. Those attempting to park will be asked to move. THES and AISD are not responsible for towed vehicles.
If you would like to opt out of paper fliers, please be sure to check the box on the front of our child’s Wednesday folder. Please help us reduce waste and save money!
