Carnival Is Here!

THIS Friday, October 27th, 5-8pm

Bring your family and join in the Carnival Fun! There will be lots of games, prizes and awesome food! Tickets are $.50 each.

Costumes (tasteful ones, of course) are encouraged!

Don’t forget to drop your grade level food donation by the teachers lounge Friday morning!

PreK – Cookies
Kinder – Fresh Fruit (apples, grapes, berries, melon)
1st – Hot Dogs & Buns
2nd – Hamburger Buns
3rd – Shredded Cheddar Cheese
4th – Fritos or Tortilla chips (no scoops)
5th – Pickles (spears or slices)

We’re also still collecting Prize donations!- Drop off your gently used stuffed animals and toys in the boxes by the office. And finally, It’s not too late to sign up to work a shift in a game booth! Sign up sheets are in the lobby or contact Toni Wakefield at toniwake @

If you have any friends or neighbors who are interested in learning more about Travis Heights, invite them to Carnival! Then have them save the date for a Prospective Family Tour, the first tour is November 10th at 8am. Additional tour dates are listed on our calendar.

No school on Nov. 3rd!

This is our second new training/planning day for teachers. Please see attached flyers for meal service info and child care options on this day.

Dual Language Dinner Fundraiser- Saturday November 11th

Travis Heights Elementary School parents, Molly & John Cain would like to invite you to a casual but elegant dinner in their garden under their live oak trees and roaming chickens. Our event is a fundraiser in support of the THES Dual Language Program. Enjoy a delicious, 3 course meal prepared by Chef John Cain, while having a fun, kid-free evening with THES friends, teachers and families. Proceeds from this event will support the growth and continuation of the Dual Language program across all grades.

    Join us this month for a helpful training on managing strong emotions in our children and implementing peace areas at home by our Travis Heights counselors. You’ll leave with some quick strategies to try at home, raffle items, and a make-and-take project for your child’s very own peace area.

    Thunderbird Thrift Sale

    Time: 8:00 am-12:00 pm

    Location: THES gym


    Save the date and save your stuff! The 2nd Annual Thunderbird Thrift will take place in the gym from 8am-noon. This fun event was created last year to present a great way for our community to shop second hand and also help raise money for our school. 

    Please donate GENTLY USED CLOTHES, TOYS, BOOKS, HOUSEWARES, and ELECTRONICS. Ask your friends, neighbors & family if they have donations for the sale – the more inventory we have, the better the sale!

    Shop the sale early, and stick around for BEAUTIFICATION DAY! Just 30 minutes of gardening and clean-up can make a huge difference in how our campus looks and feels for our children.  The whole family is welcome!

    This dance raises money for 4th grade to go to the Alamo. Only 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students may attend. No younger siblings or alumni allowed.

    It's My Park Day: Clean up Blunn Creek!

    Time: 9:00 am-12:00 pm


    Volunteers are encouraged to meet at Blunn Creek for a neighborhood park cleanup. Austin Parks Foundation will lend waders, grabbers, trash bags, and will also dispose of trash. Click here for more info! Please spread the word and help keep the park behind our school beautiful!
