The PTA has many open leadership positions for next year and we need your help to fill them!
We hate to say it but if we can’t identify enough volunteers for next year, there is a possibility that some events or activities will have to be cancelled.

Testing Next Week!
Next week is a testing week for 3-5th grades. STAAR test days are March 28th (4th Writing/ 5th Math) and March 29th (5th Reading). 3rd grade has Benchmark testing March 30-31.
Campus will be closed to visitors all next week to allow for a quiet testing environment. Please remember that parents will not be able to eat lunch with their child next week due to the testing. See the attached flyer for more information.
Here are some helpful hints for parents of students testing:
- 1. Please arrive on time, or EARLY so your child has time to settle before testing starts.
- 2. Students are encouraged to wear comfy clothes.
- 3. It’s important for children to not feel stressed by the testing. The teachers are helping the students with positive self-talk and breathing exercises. Encourage your child to do his/her best if they seem rattled, and support them by making sure they have healthy meals and are well rested. Big hugs and kisses go a long way.
Good news: The Scholastic Book Fair is coming!
It will be at Travis Heights Library M-F April 3rd-7th 8:00am-3:00pm, and will close at lunchtime on the 7th.
Family Night will be on Thursday until 6:30P.M. and the Kona Ice snowcone truck will be here starting at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday too!
Don’t forgot to take a look at your teachers’ book wish lists, if you’d like to surprise them with a book they’d love.
But wait, there’s more… this year we’ll have an estimation jar at the fair. The winner with the closest estimation wins a *FREE BOOK*!

Know any prospective Pre-K or Kinder students? Help us spread the word to friends and others in the neighborhood that it’s time to register. Pre-K registration begins April 3rd and Kinder Orientation will be held April 4th. Check out the attached flyer for all the details.

PTA Leadership Needs
Ice Cream Social/Meet Your Teacher
Time: 3:30 pm-5:30 pm
Annual Back-to-School Ice Cream Social: Find classroom assignments and meet your teacher at this annual event. Come by any time after 3:30 and stroll through your classroom. The cafeteria will have information about the school available and ice cream/non-allergen icy pops available to cool off from the heat. Please plan on stopping by the cafeteria with your child.
The social is also a great time to bring school supplies to your classroom too! School supplies can be placed in a bag with your child’s name on it. Please do not place your child’s name on individual items/school supplies within the bag. If you cannot make the social, school supplies can be brought in the first week of school. Questions about supplies can also be posed to teachers at the social or during the first week of school as well, and purchased thereafter.
