Our community rocks! Through the widespread support of friends, family, and our business partners – Home Slice, Juke Automotive, Edwards Mulhausen Design, Rockford Business Interiors, and PSW – we’ve raised over $24,000!

You may have noticed the mason jar contest we had going last week, tallying how many donations came in from each grade level, and the winner is


A special grade wide treat will be distributed Friday. Key chains will also be distributed to each child who had a donation made in their name.

There is still time to donate if you feel moved to do so – we still need another $5000 to meet our $30,000 goal. You can drop a check in the PTA mailbox, located in the administration office, or go to

Your generosity and involvement are inspiring not only to our children but to the city at large. Your engagement is what makes this school so special.

Does your child ever have BIG emotions?

Then be sure to attend Friday’s coffee chat!  Ms. Cano, our counselor, will be sharing calming strategies to help with those emotional moments.  This Friday, 2/24 at 8am in the Cafeteria.

🌳 🌺 Beautification Day is 8am-2pm, this Saturday, 2/25!

Come on out and help us do some outdoor spring cleaning!  Kids, parents, grandparents, friends and family are all welcome to join the fun- there are jobs for everyone!  Bring your water bottle, gloves and any gardening tools you have-check out the flyer for more details.  Stay as long as you are able.

Rally Day is less than a week away!

Join us as we gather with PTA members from across the state to show our legislators how important our public schools are. The rally on the capitol steps is 11:30- noon on Monday, Feb. 27th.

Picture Day is next Tuesday 2/28! 📸

It’s time for those fancy individual spring photos!  Proofs will be sent out after the photos are taken and you will have the option to purchase them at that time.

Kinder Helpers needed!

Volunteers are needed to work with groups of Dual Language Kinder students in the mornings to support reading and math.  Please contact for more information on specific needs and times.

? Shamrock Dance! ?

All 3rd-5th graders are invited to the Annual Shamrock Dance, next Friday, March 3rd, 4-6pm. Tickets are $5 and will be on sale next week.  See the flyer for more details.

Do you know any Artists?

We are looking for artists who can lead hands-on art sessions for groups of 3rd-5th graders at our Young Artist’s Workshop May 23rd.  If you, or someone you know might be interested,  please contact YAW coordinator, Soo Spaw at  sooleespaw @ outlook . com.

The PTA needs you!

PTA executive board elections are in April and we need a Vice President! The job involves helping to keep track of the PTA calendar and supporting PTA event coordinators.  If you are looking for a way to get involved next year, please contact volunteers @ travisheightselementary .com. There are several other openings as well- we can find the one that is right for you!

    Ice Cream Social/Meet Your Teacher

    Time: 3:30 pm-5:30 pm


    Annual Back-to-School Ice Cream Social: Find classroom assignments and meet your teacher at this annual event. Come by any time after 3:30 and stroll through your classroom. The cafeteria will have information about the school available and ice cream/non-allergen icy pops available to cool off from the heat. Please plan on stopping by the cafeteria with your child.

    The social is also a great time to bring school supplies to your classroom too! School supplies can be placed in a bag with your child’s name on it. Please do not place your child’s name on individual items/school supplies within the bag. If you cannot make the social, school supplies can be brought in the first week of school. Questions about supplies can also be posed to teachers at the social or during the first week of school as well, and purchased thereafter.
