Need Summer Reading Ideas?

There’s something for everyone at Austin Public Library! From toddlers to teens: magic, robots, scavenger hunts, sewing, marionettes, puppets, tap dance, local music, stories, arts and crafts, board games, and a glow-in-the-dark dance party! See the schedule.

3rd-5th grades can get a jumpstart on the 2019 Bluebonnet Books!  Keep track of what you read for our back to school Bluebonnet Program. Please note:*The Bluebonnet books cover grades 3-6, some books may not be appropriate (reading level and maturity-wise) for 3rd graders to read on their own. Get the list!

Texas 2X2 books are recommended for age 2–grade 2, and we’ll be offering rewards for awesome readers when we return to school next year.  Get a head start!

Austin ISD is teaming up with Book People for a recommended reading list in English and Spanish for all levels. Check it out!

Barnes & Noble has a Summer Reading Program that earns you free books! More details here.

Read 300 minutes in June and July and you can win a $5 gift card each month from Half Price Books!  See how it works!

For kids that like reading on a device, we have subscriptions to some e-book libraries.  Found out more on the chart at the end of this flyer:  Summer Reading Ideas 2019
