The money will go towards an Outdoor Classroom and Butterfly Garden which is being designed and built by some of our very own 4th graders! To contribute, please go to: Donate Online Now or you can give at Saturday’s party.

Gueros Thank You!

Wasn’t last night a blast?! Thank you all for another great turn out at the T-Bird Fiesta! Word on the street is that we surpassed our goals!! More details to come next Wednesday! Y’all Rock!

Appreciation Pump …

Thank you to everyone who helped make Teacher Appreciation Week successful. The teachers and staff felt so loved! And thanks to Willow McIndoo & Daniela de Jongh for leading the effort!

STAAR Testing Next week!

Campus will be closed Monday, May 14th- Thursday, May 17th. This means NO VISITORS on campus so that we can provide a quiet testing environment for our 3rd-5th graders. This also means you will NOT be able to have lunch with your child on Wednesday.

3rd-5th graders! Be sure to get a good night’s sleep and use those strategies to ROCK the STAAR!

He’s a Captain, Are you?

If you’ve ever had an urge to wear a captain’s suit, now is your chance!

If we’re going to have a Carnival next year we need to get our Carnival Captain spots filled! So please consider joining the awesome Carnival crew as a Team Captain! The best part of being a captain (besides the hat) is knowing you are making our school carnival possible and making a difference in our community. We’ve got an awesome crew of worker bees that will work on your team and many of the jobs have plans that you just need to follow.

We need Captains for the following teams:
Setup/Cleanup
Prizes
Supplies
Booths
Sponsorship/Donations

For more information, please contact: volunteers@travisheightselementary.com
**Captain suits not included

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

Our school has some amazing enrichment activities and events. But they only happen through the work of dedicated parent volunteers. Please consider sharing your time to help keep these events alive for future generations of Thunderbirds!
The following parent leaders are needed for next year:

Volunteer Co-Coordinator
Works with our current coordinator to train and place volunteers for the school. Volunteer Coordinators also assist event leaders with creating volunteer sign ups and maintaining the volunteer database. Time Commitment: 1-2 hours a week in the first weeks of school. 1-2 hours a month the rest of the year.

Membership/Database Coordinator
Runs the PTA membership drive in the fall by sending communications and organizing opportunities for people to return forms and money. Serves as main contact for the database, oversees data entry of membership forms into database and removal of members who have left the school. Time Commitment: 1-2 hours a week in the first month of school. Occasional database work in the rest of the year.

Wednesday Folder Leader
Arranges materials and supervises volunteers at the filling of Wednesday Communication Folders each week. Time Commitment: ~1.5 hours weekly on Wednesday mornings.

Communications Chair
Do you like to know what’s going on at school? Do you think communication to parents could be improved? Consider becoming our new Communications Chair! This Chair leads a team to update website content, maintain our social media presence, and send the e-folder/Wednesday Folder each week. Also keeps an eye on the events calendar and reaches out to event leaders to remind them to send their communications through. Average time commitment: 1-2 hours/ week.

To volunteer, please contact: volunteers@travisheightselementary.com
Check out travisheightselementary.com/volunteering/ for additional needs.
