Principal Profile Meeting- Tomorrow!
Please plan on attending the Principal Profile Meeting on April 5th 6:00-7:30 in the Travis Heights Elementary School Cafeteria
Childcare & Interpretation will be provided
All parents, caregivers and community members are encouraged to attend!
At this meeting, you will learn about the Principal Selection Process, how to be involved and, most importantly, help to identify the characteristics that our school community feels are a priority for our next Principal. At this meeting we will develop our Principal Profile to inform the district during the hiring process.
Please come and share your thoughts about what is important in our next great THES Principal!

Beautification Rescheduled- THIS Saturday!
Join us THIS Saturday, April 7th starting at 9am to help spiff up the school grounds for Spring. We have lots of mulch to move so if you have a wheelbarrow you can bring, please do! All are welcome, stay as little or long as you are able.

4th/5th STAAR Testing- Closed Campus
Next Tuesday and Wednesday our 4th and 5th graders will take the first round of STAAR testing. In order to provide a quiet testing environment, no visitors will be allowed on campus those days. This means you will not be able to eat lunch with your child on Wednesday!
STEAM Day (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math)
Next Thursday, April 12th, our students will experience their first STEAM Day. At this event, which is a combination of our former Young Scientist’s Day and Young Artist’s Workshop, our 3rd-5th grade students will attend two hands-on sessions (one with an artist and one with a scientist). At the same time, our PK-2nd grade students will be treated to an exciting demonstration from UT’s Physics Circus! These days are always awesome enrichment opportunities for our students, be sure to ask your child what new things they learned!

Annual Back-to-School Ice Cream Social: Find classroom assignments and meet your teacher at this annual event. Come by any time after 3:30 and stroll through your classroom. The cafeteria will have information about the school available and ice cream/non-allergen icy pops available to cool off from the heat. Please plan on stopping by the cafeteria with your child.
The social is also a great time to bring school supplies to your classroom too! School supplies can be placed in a bag with your child’s name on it. Please do not place your child’s name on individual items/school supplies within the bag. If you cannot make the social, school supplies can be brought in the first week of school. Questions about supplies can also be posed to teachers at the social or during the first week of school as well, and purchased thereafter.
