Pre-K & Kinder Orientation- Next Week!

Know any prospective Pre-K or Kinder Thunderbirds? Help us spread the word to friends and others in the neighborhood that it’s time to register! Pre-K and Kinder Orientation will be held April 3rd at 8:10 am. Check out the registration information page for lists of what to bring to register.

We’ve Made it to 45%!

That’s right, 45% of our awesome Thunderbird parents have taken the time to register their students for next school year! We are getting closer to our goal of 75% by the end of March- only 3 days left! If you’re haven’t done so yet, please take 15 minutes, grab your Parent Cloud password (or request a new one) and register already! It’s easy- I promise. Completing registration early is important as it impacts the amount of funding and teachers we receive. Classrooms who have all students registered by March 30th will receive a special prize! Register at https://my.austinisd.org

New Principal Selection Process

As was announced last week, Ms. Robertson has decided that she will be retiring as Principal at the end of the year. We wish her the absolute best, and stay tuned for opportunities for us all to honor and thank her! AISD has a very quick timeline to find her replacement and they need ALL of our input to help find the best match for the children, teachers, staff, and parents in our wonderful school community.

Please plan on attending the Principal Profile Meeting on April 5th 6:00-7:30 in the Travis Heights Elementary School Cafeteria. Childcare will be provided. All parents, caregivers and community members are encouraged to attend!

At this meeting, you will learn about the Principal Selection Process, how to be involved and, most importantly, help to identify the characteristics that our school community feels are a priority for our next Principal. At this meeting we will develop our Principal Profile to inform the district during the hiring process.

Please come and share your thoughts about what is important in our next great THES Principal!
