Thank You YWW leaders!

Our 22nd annual Young Writer’s Workshop last week was a huge success! Let’s give a great big Appreciation Pump …💪‼ 💪‼ 💪‼ to Erin Walter for her continued leadership of this event. And thank you also to Dani Diepenbrock for organizing hospitality for the guest writers. And While We’re Giving Appreciation Pumps 💪‼

💪‼ 💪‼ 💪‼ to our Fundraising team! Jonna Ball, Oliver Bernstein, and Kathleen Mulhausen led the efforts for the PTA’s recent I ❤ THES fundraiser, which raised over $23,000 to fund PTA activities next year. Way to go!

Picture Day is Tomorrow!

Every student will have their picture taken and will receive a package of pictures. If you like what you see, keep them and send the money back (you don’t have to buy the whole package). If you don’t want them, return them to the office. Please note: there are no retakes for Spring pictures!

THIS Friday is Neon Day!!

Students are encouraged to wear NEON colored clothing or accessories. Get ready to glow!

☘ Shamrock Dance Friday!! ☘

Don’t forget that this Friday from 4-6pm is the Annual Sham-Rock Dance!

When: This Friday, March 2nd (4-6pm)
Where: THES Gym
Who: 3rd-5th Grade THES students only (sorry no alumni, or younger students)
What: $5 buys your entry plus a drink and 2 cookies!

You can purchase tickets at the door or before/after school this week. You can also bring extra money for: Nachos, Popcorn, Photo Booth, and Tattoos!

Don’t forget a pair of dancing shoes and lots o’ green! Money raised will go to support the 4th grade in costs related to visiting the Alamo.

4th Grade Families: We are asking that all 4th grade students please donate at least one dozen cookies for the Dance. Drop them off in the teacher’s lounge on Friday.

We are looking for a Teacher Appreciation Co-Leader to help organize our appreciation efforts later this semester. If you can help, please contact volunteers @ travisheightselementary. com. We are also looking for Teacher Appreciation Team members! Contact us if you have ideas or can help.

Ever Wonder Who Cares for These Beauties???

We do! Family volunteers are needed to show our ladies some love by checking in on weekends and holidays. If we can find an additional 3-4 families to be trained on chicken care then the commitment will only be one weekend every 4-6 weeks. For more information contact

It’s Time to Register!

Online registration for next school year is now open! Our goal is to have 75% of students registered by the end of March. Completing registration early is important as it impacts the amount of funding and staffing we receive. Classrooms who have all students registered by March 30th will receive a special prize! Last Chance! Parent Survey

The Austin ISD 2017–18 Parent & Family Survey is now available and is accepting responses online through March 2 (FRIDAY). Paper copies of the survey are available at each campus and online at the links below.
Families are encouraged to participate so they can share input on district and campus performance.The results will help district leadership learn how to best to improve services for our students.

    Join us this month for a helpful training on managing strong emotions in our children and implementing peace areas at home by our Travis Heights counselors. You’ll leave with some quick strategies to try at home, raffle items, and a make-and-take project for your child’s very own peace area.

    Thunderbird Thrift Sale

    Time: 8:00 am-12:00 pm

    Location: THES gym


    Save the date and save your stuff! The 2nd Annual Thunderbird Thrift will take place in the gym from 8am-noon. This fun event was created last year to present a great way for our community to shop second hand and also help raise money for our school. 

    Please donate GENTLY USED CLOTHES, TOYS, BOOKS, HOUSEWARES, and ELECTRONICS. Ask your friends, neighbors & family if they have donations for the sale – the more inventory we have, the better the sale!

    Shop the sale early, and stick around for BEAUTIFICATION DAY! Just 30 minutes of gardening and clean-up can make a huge difference in how our campus looks and feels for our children.  The whole family is welcome!

    It's My Park Day: Clean up Blunn Creek!

    Volunteers are encouraged to meet at Blunn Creek for a neighborhood park cleanup. Austin Parks Foundation will lend waders, grabbers, trash bags, and will also dispose of trash. Click here for more info! Please spread the word and help keep the park behind our school beautiful!
