Be a Flower Child!

Show your friends, classmates, and teachers how much you care! Student Council will be holding their annual Flower for Friends fundraiser January 29th through February 1st. Flowers are $2 each or 3 for $5 and will be delivered on February 9th. Proceeds are used to fund Student Council projects and initiatives. Please note, a limited amount of flowers are available for sale. Once they’re gone, that’s it!

No school THIS Friday, February 2nd!

This is another of our District of Innovation planning days for teachers.
And because there’s no school Friday…
Upper Grade Assembly is Thursday, Feb. 1st!

  • A Project Based Learning Showcase of projects from 2nd-5th grade
  • A brief update from the Thunderboard regarding changes to our school’s Four Pillars and
  • A musical performance by our talented 4th & 5th grade students!

Our annual no hassle fundraiser approaches.

Donation forms and envelopes will go out in next week’s folders. Simply complete and return with donation, or donate online today!

Each donation will earn your child a THES keychain and an entry into our fundraising contest. The grade with the most donations will win a popsicle party!

Also, remember to go to Home Slice February 12th – they’re donating 10% of all sales!

AISD Calendar Updates

No Bad Weather Make-Up days!- AISD announced that we will not have to make up the two bad weather days this year! Woo Hoo!!!

For those wanting to get a head start on planning, the 2018-19 school calendar has been approved. Details are available on the AISD website.

Don’t Forget to Register!

Students who live within AISD boundaries can now register online for the 2018–19 school year. Registration forms and the transfer request forms are available in the Parent Cloud at For more information, please visit or call the THES office at 414-4495. The earlier everyone registers, the better it is for our budget and staff planning!

Parent Survey is Online!

The Austin ISD 2017–18 Parent & Family Survey is now available and is accepting responses online through March 2. Paper copies of the survey are available at each campus and online at the links below.

Families are encouraged to participate so they can share input on district and campus performance. The results will help district leadership learn how to best to improve services for our students.

    Ice Cream Social/Meet Your Teacher

    Time: 3:30 pm-5:30 pm


    Annual Back-to-School Ice Cream Social: Find classroom assignments and meet your teacher at this annual event. Come by any time after 3:30 and stroll through your classroom. The cafeteria will have information about the school available and ice cream/non-allergen icy pops available to cool off from the heat. Please plan on stopping by the cafeteria with your child.

    The social is also a great time to bring school supplies to your classroom too! School supplies can be placed in a bag with your child’s name on it. Please do not place your child’s name on individual items/school supplies within the bag. If you cannot make the social, school supplies can be brought in the first week of school. Questions about supplies can also be posed to teachers at the social or during the first week of school as well, and purchased thereafter.
