We had a fabulous turn out at Beautification Day this past weekend. Thank you to all the returning families who came and to the new ones we got to meet! It is always fun to see everyone and to do a bit to make our campus look good!
Special Appreciation Pump 💪??💪??💪?? to Melissa Bowman who always, and I mean always, comes through and supplies us with Starbucks Coffee for every beautification day and I believe for many, if not all, Coffee Chats! You rock Melissa!
And another Appreciation Pump 💪??💪??💪?? to Ben Appl for leading every Beautification Day since 2012! That’s 10 Beautification Days!

Volunteer Orientation
All new volunteers are encouraged to attend a Volunteer Orientation.
Thursday, September 28th- 8am
Training is no longer required for volunteers but those wishing to work in the classroom or chaperone field trips must submit a background check online and complete paperwork with your child’s teacher. See the volunteering page for more details on completing the background checks.
Office Helpers Needed!
We are looking for a couple of volunteers to provide ongoing clerical support to our ROCKing (see what I did there?) administrative staff. Primarily copy support is needed on Mondays and Tuesdays to prepare the copies that are to be sent in the Wednesday communication folder. There is also occasionally a need for phone backup in the event someone is ill or needs to leave early. If you are interested in helping in either of these areas please email volunteers@travisheightselementary.com.
Used Book Fair!
Does your child still have easy readers on their shelves when they’re reading on a fourth grade level?
Is it time to recycle some of your kids’ used books?
Let us help you keep those books re-loved in the hands of new readers!
The library is accepting donations for the Used Book Fair, which is coming up Wed.-Fri. October 4th-6th.
Especially needed: Easy readers for PK/K/1st graders.
Our little Thunderbirds are hungry for books and are ready to watch their personal libraries grow!
NOTE: Book swaps are encouraged!

Reminder: Annual Dual Language Parent Meeting
We’ll be reviewing how the Dual Language program is working on our campus and what it looks like in middle school and beyond. Later, we’ll break out in grade level groups where parents will have an opportunity to get updates and participate in Q&A!

AISD Bond
Austin ISD will be hosting an open house this Thursday to share more details and answer your questions about the upcoming AISD bond election. The open house will be from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Sept. 28 in the Travis ECHS cafeteria. The open house will include child care, light refreshments and simultaneous Spanish presentations.
