📚 Book Fair is this week!📚

Stop on by to check out all the great books! Here’s the schedule for the rest of the week:

  • Wednesday 8am-3pm
  • Thursday -Family night – 8am- 6:30pm. The Kona Ice Snocone truck will be here in the afternoon too!
  • Friday 8am- noon

?? Teacher Appreciation Week is just around the corner! ??

Our annual celebration of teachers and staff is May 1-5th. If you have some ideas of how we could show our staff how amazing we think they are, please contact Willow willowb @ gmail.com to join the planning team!

We have an awesome T-shirt design for next year!

Congratulations to design #3! What a fantastic illustration this is! So excited to wear this new shirt next year!

Now we just need a Coordinator to organize sales so we can all rock our new Thunderbird gear. The Sales Coordinator organizes volunteers to sell T-shirts and other merchandise, tracks inventory, and publicizes and arranges logistics for sales.
Time Commitment: 1 hour/week to prepare for sales (more during sales) primarily in August/September

10 MORE MUSICIANS, ACTORS, DANCERS, DESIGNERS NEEDED!!!

Sewing, filmmaking, printmaking, painting, drama, dance, multimedia, graffiti art, ceramics…. We are calling artists of all walks to participate in the THES annual Young Artists’ Workshop on the morning of May 23rd! This morning of workshops gives our 3rd to 5th graders a hands-on opportunity to explore different ways of engaging with their world through the arts.

Interested? Art is not your day job? No problem! We are looking for individuals who are passionate about the art they practice!

    Description:

    Please attend this special training at our school on Monday, April 29th, from 4-5:30PM with Isabel Guerrero of Austin Interfaith. Please RSVP to Colin Clark at sprinklerintherain@gmail.com or Isabel at isabelcg.iaf@gmail.com.

    Isabel will train us in the tried-and-true organizing principles and practices that our school community has used in years past to win our in-district charter and help families facing displacement.

    We will learn how to host "House Meetings," where we identify issues of concern and identify new leaders for our school, as well as how to organize campaigns to win on our issues.

    As our school population changes, and as families face a variety of challenges, including housing insecurity, language barriers, and deportation threats, this training is foundational to organizing ourselves for the best outcomes for our children, students, faculty and staff.
