About Me:

Debby Harris was born and raised in a small town on the Gulf coast called Port Lavaca, but after graduating from the University of Texas, she, her husband, and their pup Huckleberry moved to Florida, then Germany, and then Norway. After having a little one in 2018, they wanted to be closer to family, so they came back to where it all started – Austin!Amidst all the moving, she has taught middle and high school English while also getting her Master’s in Information Science. Overseas, she was the program coordinator at a research library. Her most recent position was raising her toddler while also working remotely for Dell Medical School library. Before Covid, she was also volunteering at the Twin Oaks Branch of the Austin Public Library.

Her hobbies include jigsaw puzzles, reading (of course!), and boardgames. Also, on the weekends, her family loves to hang out at any coffee shop that has a playground!

Mrs. Harris is committed to help make our Thunderbirds lifelong learners and readers!

About Me:

Ms. Isoline is our art teacher at THES. She grew up in Fort Worth. She moved to Austin in 1978 and raised her daughter here. Ms. Isoline first starting working in retail management and buying, but felt a calling to educate. Her first teaching job was at the Austin State Hospital. In 1998 she joined the THES faculty, and has been here ever since! Along with teaching art at THES, Ms. Isoline organizes an exhibition of student work at the Performing Arts Center, sponsors the Young Artists’ Day at THES and donates her time every year to help THES students participate in the Travis Heights Art Walk. Our beautiful artwork is displayed throughout the school all year long. If you care about art in the schools, and would like to volunteer, please contact her.
