Our annual “NO HASSLE” fundraiser is still going!
Donation forms and envelopes went out in last week’s folders. Simply complete and return with donation, or donate online now!
We’ve got a great start and I just got news that our kick off event at Homeslice Pizza brought in $1650! And with Juke Automotive’s match for the event we ended up raising $3300 for the night!! Thanks to all you Thunderbirds who sacrificed so much by eating pizza 🍕 Monday night!
Our goal is 100% family participation! THES keychains will go out Friday to all student participants, and the grade level with the most donations wins a special treat!
TOMORROW! PBL Showcase & 4th/5th Performance
Please join us Thursday, February 15, at 5:45pm for a very special evening featuring:
- A Project Based Learning Showcase of projects from 2nd-5th grade
- A brief update from the Thunderboard regarding changes to our school’s Four Pillars
- A musical performance by our talented 4th & 5th grade students! (Student performers please meet in the Cafeteria at 5:45pm.)
Children are welcome to attend with their parents!
Young Writer’s Workshop is Next Week!
Our 22nd annual Young Writers’ Workshop (YWW) will be held next Thursday, February 22nd. YWW is a wonderful day on which authors, poets, playwrights, song-writers, and journalists volunteer their time to share their love of writing with our 3rd through 5th graders. If you want to be amazed by the quality of writers our children will get to work with on their own writing skills, See the list of writers and their bios here.
Our Pre-K through 2nd graders will also have a special treat that day with an assembly on poetry by Jena Kirkpatrick, a previous favorite of Young Writer’s Workshop.
Quizzes, Tests, and Exams… Oh My!!!
Join us for the Coffee Chat, Feb. 23rd at 8am as we welcome Amber Pleasant, AISD Social Emotional Learning Specialist, for a conversation about test anxiety and how to help students cope.
THES’s Biannual Facelift!
We need anyone and everyone to come together Saturday 2/24 starting at 9:00a.m. to work on beautifying our school!
Bring your children to help…and anyone else (grandparents, relatives, neighbors) who enjoys gardening, carpentry, grounds clean-up, etc.
Whether you can stay one hour or the entire day, that’s fine by us.
Plan to bring a water bottle, gloves, tools ( wheelbarrows are always needed ) if you have them.
3rd-5th Graders ☘️ Shamrock ☘️ 💃🏽 Dance 🕺🏾 is coming!
Save Friday, March 2nd 4-6pm for a fun-filled afternoon of dancing! More details coming soon!
