About Me:

Also known as Mrs. A, Mrs. Armintor is a veteran teacher who started her profession in 2006. She loves watching all the progress that the kids make over the year, and loves encouraging the kids to be curious, lifelong learners and develop a love for reading. Since joining THES in 2015, Mrs. Armintor has fallen in love with our Friday morning assemblies at THES, the Fall Carnival and being able to teach through PBL and Blended Learning. She loves to travel with her husband Chris and son Grayson, especially to Crested Butte, CO where they go three times a year! Mrs. A is super crafty, and in her spare time, she loves to work on her Jeep and drive, and even has a motorcycle license! Her favorite colors are pink and black, and she adores baby pigs

 

Sharon Chavez

About Me:

Ms. Chavez has been teaching since 2008 and is teaching Dual Language Kinder this year. An alumnae of Barry University in Miami, FL, and Concordia University here in Austin, TX, she loves how her students see the world and their innocence. She is super excited about working at THES, and loves to work with the children in all the wonderful programs and activities here. Ms. Chavez has two daughters and two dogs, and her favorite color is purple.

 

Alexandra Dunbar

About Me:

Mrs. Dunbar came to Travis Heights in 2016, and she has been teaching Kindergarten since 2010! She loves teaching because her students always impress her with how much they learn and grow, and they make her smile every day. She graduated from Trinity University in San Antonio with a degree in Geosciences. She’s currently working on her master’s degree in Sustainability at Texas State University. Mrs. Dunbar loves to travel with her husband Rudy and her son Remy. She has lived in Costa Rica, Venezuela, Morocco, and the Ivory Coast. Mrs. Dunbar loves being a part of the THES community and teaching project based learning!

 

Natasha Pedro

About Me:

Ms. Pedro is a recent graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. She student taught at Travis Heights Elementary for 2 semesters and is excited to start her career at such an incredible school! Ms. Pedro’s favorite part of teaching is watching her Kindergarteners grow as people and learners throughout the school year, she is constantly impressed with their sense of wonder and enthusiasm for learning. When she is not teaching, Ms. Pedro loves spending time with her friends, family, and her dog, Asher.
