Last 2 Chances for Volunteer Training this school year
If you haven’t made it to a Volunteer Training yet this year, it’s not too late! Training is scheduled for today, Wed. 1/27 at 2pm and next Thursday 2/4 at 8am. Don’t forget, training is required every 2 years and you must be trained to go on field trips.
January 28, Thursday: Travis Heights Science Fair Day!
The science fair will be open for display in the morning for classes to walk through and observe.
NO ONE WILL BE ADMITTED DURING JUDGING! 11am-5:00pm (no exceptions!)
The Travis Heights Science Fair will be OPEN for parents, teachers and students to visit from 5:00pm – 6:00pm
Awards Ceremony: 6:00pm-6:30pm
6:30pm: Take projects home and help take tables down after ceremony. (We will need a crew to do this. Please plan to stay and help if you can.)
SEL Book Study
THES will be hosting a book study on Friday mornings starting Feb 5th. The book will be “The Whole-Brain Child: 12 Revolutionary Strategies to Nurture Your Child’s Developing Mind” by Daniel J. Seigel & Tina Payne Bryson
Books will be provided.
Complete with age-appropriate strategies for dealing with day-to-day struggles and illustrations that will help you explain these concepts to your child, The Whole-Brain Child shows you how to cultivate healthy emotional and intellectual development so that your children can lead balanced, meaningful, and connected lives.
Even if you can’t come every Friday be sure to stop by when you can make it – it’s sure to be a great experience.
