Young Artists’ Workshop – May 27
We are so excited to present the Second Annual Young Artists’ Workshop next Wednesday, May 27th! Similar to the Young Writers’ Workshop and Young Scientists’ Day, this unique event will give our students the opportunity to experience and learn about the many ways in which art can play an important part of their lives, either as a creative outlet or even possibly as a profession.
On Wednesday morning, students in 3rd, 4th & 5th grade will attend two creative workshops led by sixteen Austin artists. These students will have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of artistic presentations including drawing, painting, design, collage, ceramics, photography, music, and even animation! Students in Pre-K, Kinder, 1st and 2nd will attend an exciting presentation by Elizabeth McQueen, Austin musician and vocalist for Asleep At the Wheel. After the morning workshops, all students will be able to expand their creative thinking with more art projects in their classrooms.
Come help us share the creative arts with our students. VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED to assist the artists in their sessions. Sign up online or contact Alicia Lyn Kasprzak at 773-398-3707.
We are so thankful to the many artists, teachers and parents who are working to make this special day possible, and look forward to enjoying all the creativity and imagination the Young Artists’ Workshop will inspire in the students of Travis Heights Elementary!

All registration is online this year at my.austinisd.org. If you need help registering you may come to the school tomorrow from 4:30p.m.-6:30 p.m. You may also talk to Gio Montalvo our school registrar at 512-414-3478
