Fall Fundraiser in Full Force!
Science Day
Hi neighbors! It's almost time for Science Day again! I organize this event at Travis Heights Elementary School. On November 10th, we bring in 16-18 'real world' scientists to make presentations to our 3rd through 5th graders.
The presentation sessions are 9-9:50 and 10-10:50 (same presentation to two groups of kids). We have a welcome breakfast/kick-off and an appreciation lunch afterwards. Based on what I've heard from participating scientists over the past five years that I've been organizing, it's a rewarding and fun experience.
Lots of our neighborhood kids don't have exposure to careers in science (broadly defined), so this really is an enhancement for them. If you have any interest in participating, I'd love to hear from you. Please contact Ashley at amclain1@austin.rr.com and I'll provide more info. Thanks!!
