Travis Heights Elementary

Accelerated Reader Book Club (1-2) Have fun while earning points on Accelerated Reader.  Classes offered for both English and Spanish speakers.


3-D Art (K-2) Explore the 3rd dimension! This course will follow student’s current skills and interest and introduce new drawing, painting, origami and reuse/recycle techniques to go beyond the flat into a world that really POPs! Whether you want to make a realistic horse or something from your own universe, we'll make it come alive.


Basketball (2-5) Practice basketball skills and play basketball with your friends.


Bi-Lingual Yoga (K-2) Participate in creative, physical play that encourages bi-lingual development.


Capoeira (K-5) You saw them at Tamalada and now you've got the chance to learn the fundamentals of Capoeira Brazilian Martial Arts!   Capoeira will help you develop discipline, good health, basic Portuguese, agility and a better understanding of the world and the cultures it has to offer.


Choir (1-2) Enjoy learning and singing songs in unison & 2 parts for performances.


Hands on Equations (4) Algebra for elementary students!  This program gives students a concrete representation of the symbols and processes utilized in solving algebra problems. This visual and kinesthetic instructional system is fun and enables students to learn essential algebraic concepts and skills. 


Kickball (2-5) Practice kickball skills and play kickball with your friends.


Math Pentathlon (K-5) Students play math games to develop and practice math concepts and skills.  City-wide competition in the spring.  Class goes year round.


Plant a Rain/Wildlife Garden (3-5) Learn about, build and plant a Rain Garden that will attract wildlife while beautifying our campus!  This is a two-semester project.  Learn the basics and build a strong foundation this spring then sign up again in the fall to help plant the garden.  Students will be working the soil so dress accordingly.


Sports Club (K-2) Sports games to improve motor skills, health and fitness.


Digital Animation (3-4) Make Your Own Move-eee.  Learn how to use digital cameras and stop action animation to make a short film with everyday objects.  In this class you will be able to apply endless imagination to develop the story, create the characters and build the sets you want as you learn to shoot and edit your very own masterpiece.


Tile Mosaic (3-5) Learn the art of tile mosaic and help beautify our school with a fabulous outdoor installation!


Television Broadcasting (4,5) Lights, Camera and... Action!  Ever wanted to be a part of a real newscast?  Here's your chance to learn how to write, direct, shoot and produce a TV news and information program.


Ultimate (3-5) A high energy, non-contact team sport where everyone is the quarterback and everyone is the receiver!  Ultimate is physically challenging and builds character.  “Play the Game…Live the Spirit!”


Volleyball (5) Calling all 5th graders!  Join our Volleyball team and prepare for and attend the AAPER/Explore UT Volleyball Playday on March 6 at the UT Rec. Sports Center. At the Volleyball Playday the students will learn and practice volleyball skills in a clinic with the UT Volleyball Team, and they will compete with other AISD 5th graders in a non-scoring tournament. We will continue meeting and playing after school after the play day.
