Committee
Who?
Community, Parents, Teachers, Students.
What?
Our campus leadership is called the Campus Advisory Council (CAC). The principal, in collaboration with teachers, parent representatives, community representatives and staff, is responsible for the development of a Campus Improvement Plan (CIP).
Where?
The Library.
Why?
The plan includes campus goals and objectives and decision making related to curriculum, budgeting, staffing patterns and school organizations.
When?
Our CAC meets monthly on the 2nd Monday of the month. We usually meet for 1 to 2 hours in the afternoon from 4 – 6. The CAC meetings are scheduled for the following dates:
Feb. 8
March 8
April 12
May 10
June/August Retreat ?
How?
The CAC has specific membership as required by the state of Texas. We should have equal representation between parents and staff. A PTA representative is required and that may be the President or their designate. There are 3 positions elected from the PTA and 3 positions appointed by the Principal. The CAC membership should reflect the school demographics. In addition, a Business partner is required as is a Community partner. Both of these may not have a child enrolled at the school when they are members of the CAC. The purpose for this diverse committee is to gain a variety of perspectives as we plan for the students in this school community.
It takes a Village.
